Who we are

The Business Continuity Task Force is a single window of communications between the multi-nation business community and the UAE government.

We bring together members of the UAE business community through their respective business councils and enable them to collaborate on a joint task force aimed at streamlining communication and deliverables to the relevant authorities.

We currently represent 31 Business Councils and 6,500 companies in the UAE

Our Mission

Our mission is to expand and improve awareness of business goals and support the development of policies that advocate for a robust trade environment for the UAE.

Our Purpose

The purpose of the Task Force is to advocate for policies that enable smooth business operations by serving as a resource to be utilized by the UAE government as it seeks clear, concise feedback from business and industry.

Supporting the development of an effective regulatory framework creating a convergence of purpose between the regulators and business.

Assist in aligning the expectations of current and future contributors to focus on the priorities and way forward.

Our Core Values

In order to have transparent and candid interaction, trust is a critical ingredient. We will be honest and hold ourselves to the utmost integrity.

Strength is greater due to our diverse backgrounds. We will use our diversity for the benefit of advancing the mission, learning from our unique backgrounds and experiences.

Confidentiality (Chatham House rules) will be in effect for all calls, meetings, and written communications, as secure, effective, open, and timely communication is central to our mission. We will devise a unified messaging that is jointly approved to be shared as representational of the group. This singular messaging will be used by all participants to ensure consistent messaging and help drive the support of the joint efforts of the entire group. We will use a variety of communication mechanisms to achieve our goal of productivity.

As part of a group, we will respect the backgrounds and opinions of the members and all authorities we engage with.

We will hold one another accountable for actions and desired outcomes and in so doing, agree to help one-another when workloads are tough.

Task Force Work Groups

As the Business Continuity Task Force continues to engage with UAE government entities on broader policy issues, this will involve sector-specific and topic-specific discussions and policy building workshops.

Working Groups

The “working groups” will guide development of the following:

Help the members organize, facilitate meetings internally (and with government entities when needed), define and build consensus for mutually beneficial policy suggestions between the business community and the government.

Provide Industry guidance on how best to represent the most pressing concerns to governmental authorities.

Support all Working Group Meetings as non-biased Secretariat on issues and challenges members define.

Build consensus on most pressing issues

Provide examples of global best practice for suggested policy through exploitation of the members global offices.

Our Structure

The structure of the Business Continuity Task Force is to guide and ensure that the priorities of different business councils and sectors are aligned as much as possible to the Task Force strategic objectives; and to manage the alignment of objectives of collective business councils and groups, both externally and internally.

We invite our collective members to position themselves in specific industry “working groups” to centralise and improve the efficiency of communications to government and to prioritise and articulate requests in such a way that they can be easily actioned.

The opportunity for our concerted voices to be shared directly with government officials is a connection not to be missed. We must all do our part to create a successful business environment enabling the UAE to hold its rightful place as the regional hub.
